べく means doing one thing in order to achieve another, in a formal register. Attach it to a verb's dictionary form (する may be すべく). It states purpose, like ために, but is literary and often used in writing.

    I study every day in order to pass the exam.

    Shinjitsu o tsutaeru beku, kisha wa genchi e mukatta.

    In order to convey the truth, the reporter headed to the site.
