as long as; as far as

限り sets a condition or scope: as long as something holds, the result follows. Attach it to a plain-form verb/adjective, a noun with の/である, or a na-adjective with な/である. ない限り means "unless".

• 体からだが健康けんこうな限かぎり、働はたらき続つづけたい。

  Karada ga kenkou na kagiri, hataraki tsuzuketai.

  As long as I'm healthy, I want to keep working.

• 私わたしが知しる限かぎり、彼かれは正直しょうじきな人ひとだ。

  Watashi ga shiru kagiri, kare wa shoujiki na hito da.

  As far as I know, he's an honest person.
